I found that cylinder 3 was missing. I pulled the wire off the plug and the fire would jump about an inch and as long as I held it like that it ran perfectly. Put the wire back on and it missed. I tried using another wire and same thing. Any ideas? TIA

The plug is fouled, and that is the remedy to cure a fouled plug. When you make the spark jump, it intensifies the spark. Autolite 3116 Plugs work best in your 510B. Make sure you have real copper core wires & not the Silicone, or Radio Suppression wires.

autolite is whats in it and they only have maybe 30 hours on them. It had champions in it before that andt same thing. It just keeps fouling plugs and it is not set rich, if anything it might be a shade lean on fuel.

I have seen weak spark, leading to fouled plugs, because of the wrong coil arrangement. Using an "Internally Resisted" 12V Coil, with the addition of an external resistor, will result in weak spark. Or, she could need a ring job.

Pop a lapel button off of your shirt, and poke it into the plug boot edge ways. Then push the boot onto the plug until the end of the plug just touches the edge of the button. That will give you about a 3/8" gap to jump the spark. A old soldier told me that that was what they did to jeeps that kept fouling plugs. It's always worked for me.
