Here are my pair of 646 Case tractors. Very handy little tractors!

What did Case specify for engines in their lawn tractor machines? Also, did they have a Lawn and Garden Division as part of the J.I. Case corporation? A little history lesson would be appreciated. Thanks...........gobble

The 100 series had Briggs and Stratton, as well as the Model 80. 210,220,222,224,442,444 had Kohler engines. 226,446,448 had Onan engines. 644 Kohler engine. 646,648 Onan CCKA engines. Case purchased the Colt company and was into the garden tractor market. I'm not sure what year in the 80's this part of the Case company was sold to Ingersoll. I'm not sure what Ingersoll models all had for engines. There are some nice websites dedicated to the Colt, Case, Ingersoll tractors that have lots of good info. I'm sure there is someone out there that has more knowledge on this than myself, hopefully they will comment also.

I was lucky to find the one with the tiller, 3pt. hitch and hydraulic pto less than 30 miles from home. Heard the ad for it on the local radio station's morning farmers market show. Previous owner had it for over 25 years, said he got it when he purchased an acerage, the tractor was in on the sale. I sure didn't need another one, but I have a weakness for these little tractors!

Tom said it best ... drooling over them .... wouldn't mind finding one myself .... may=be some day ....
Would you consider sending us a picture or two to be consider for the next calendar ...

I think Case Company sold the Power Equipment line to Jack Ingersoll in 1988-89
