1370 RPS-34 question

I'm about to put it back together finally. Replaced some of the C-2 and C-3 steel plates. I think the sintered plates look good, at least they're all consistent and don't look worn, but there's no thickness spec for RPS-34 first-timer me to gauge them by. Does anyone have a rough figure I could use? Once this thing is all restored I never want to see the inside of it again lol. I forgot to add this is a low hour unit, about 1400 before it sat for 10-15 years.

If the plates have obvious heat damage from excessive slippage they should be replaced ,but other wise with such few hours they should be in good useable condition. Many 10,000 plus hr tractors are still running those original plates. Measure the thickness difference between the C-2 and C-3 plates. The C-2 are the plates slipped to start out the tractor. If they are only a few thousands thinner than the C-3 they are fine. Quite often when reassembling a PS I will swap those two clutch packs because it is the C-2 that gets used the most. I do have a new disc on had and will post that thickness later if no one else does, but I do not think you need to worry about yours unless they had been hot. Rod.

That's just what I needed, thank you! I just went out and measured them. I'm afraid I didn't keep them separated on disassembly, but they measured about .153"- .155" except two that were about .148". I guess I'll do as you say and throw those in C-3. I suppose those 2 must have been stacked with the 2 worst steel plates I took out, they look like wave washers and on a flat surface there's a 1/2"- 3/4" gap on two sides. Also they're very flexible (and pretty colors). Do you think these may have been stuck on the hub on first start up?
