830 and a round baler?

Will a 830 diesel run a 5X6 round baler? Like maybe a Vermeer super J, or a JD 535? Fairly flat, and a bit of wet meadow.

You should be able to find HP requirements for the balers online....I believe that most require 45-65 hp. with the largest ones needing a bit more like 75hp

I run a 5x5 Vermeer 505SI with my 770 and it handles it very well, a 830 would also run it fine, I had a NH 855 many years ago and my 830 would run it but it worked the snot out of it but chain balers seemed to pull a bit harder than belt, you could always cut back the size if you had to
cnt

I've used my Racine 400 behind a NH 851, and just cut the bale back to 5ft. It was working hard but it turnded it. That was a true summer to forget. My 830CK makes a 6ft bale ok (not to much to spare) with the NH, but usually the 1070 gets the nod unless the ground is really soft.........

I use our gasser in a pinch on a Vermeer 505 super I. It was our main tractor on a Heston 5600 for almost 20 years, which makes up to a 5x6 bale.

it should ,..my 730 and will run a nh 847 ,, but a 830 handles the hills better ,,. ,yesterday I used the liberty 430 to bale 4 bales along field borders ,. I go downhill when finishin the bale .. .. I have used the DCs on the nh 847 round baler all day long ,. they do fine til the bale tops out but don't work any harder than on a plow... .I have run pops 51 DC on a 850 nh. baler to finish up ,when the 4020 took a dump and laid down ,.that was a bit much for it ,, but don't say that around that ol Dc ,, . it is still crowing about how it made hay with that big baler !!

I pulled a 851 with my 800, and almost got by. I have also not been able to finish a bale with a 852 behind a strong 1850 Oliver. All depends on how worn the chains are and how big you are making the bale. I just don't want to buy a baler then not be able to pull it.

Somewhere in the middle. Been putting up around 1000 and 3000 little squares. The wife now has a real, full time job.(insurance provider) so I lost my trailer stacker, plus I can add another 100 acres if I am interested. I AM NOT STACKING another 5 or 6 thousand little squares.
