Got a customer looking for a 970 part I cannot find in the parts book. 217-278 Valve threads into 217-2 Adapter. However, he says the 217-2 threads into a brass nut molded into rubber to make the seal in the bottom of the tank. I cannot find what he describes. I fear it is part of the tank, but he says no. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks.

Is he needing the rubber grommet seal that goes into the tank? if so here is what he needs

1 pic is the return fuel tube for the tank with a grommet on it(same is used on the fuel supply and the water trap

I had bad experiences with them on my 1570. The nut was letting go inside the rubber and leaking. Cost me over 50 gallons of fuel on the ground, and on a new paint job. I ended up making fittings with a gasket on a 5/8 bolt with a hole drilled and tapped to 3/8, lowered into the tank and another gasket and nut placed on the outside. I know of someone else that did the same thing because they were bad.

I had a few do this as well dealer said they were working on the issue, the last ones seem to be working,, I think they need to up size them as the tank holes have been swelled

Thanks Tom!! On-line parts books have been updated. No 6 digit numbers in the printed books I have. Still, very hard to figure out because they don't even show the adapter or grommet w/ the valve in the on-line. In the printed books I have, it only shows the adapter which threads into the grommet, but not the grommet. I looked in the 879, 970 & 1175 books. None show it.
