timing marks

On the right side of the bell housing there is a pipe plug. On the flywheel you'll find a 3/16 "hole" or dimple on the flywheel. That's the mark for the mag to fire. There is also a "D" and an "E" stamped on the flywheel, but I can't remember what they indicate. The firing mark is just a titch above the D on the flywheel. I'm sure someone will chime in with more precise info. I can scan a page from the owners or shop manual that shows the mark if needed. Just let me know email is open

What I remember is you put a piece of 3/16" welding rod in the hole, on the compression stroke, and center that in the middle of the pipe plug hole.
