The original subject was "Re: 1194 front snow plow".

I have played with and still playing with different ways of plowing the snow with my 1194. 1st I had a 3pt blade hooked up to the loader where the bucket usually is. worked ok but would dig into the frozen dirt on the drive but I could push snow into a 9' mound if I wanted. Unfort. the welds broke, on to #2, made a connection to put a 7.5' western snow plow in front of my bucket, well it stuck out way to far and it would fight my steering not to mention the weight. sold that. #3, good old rear blade, worked ok but had to spin the blade and go in reverse to widen the path. #4, hooked up a semi circle blade to the 3 pt. which plowed 8' as a sort of v plow but it was rounded. broke that #5 took the 7.5' back blade (#3) had some 1/8 plate bent and made a v plow that clears 10' in a pass by welding them in front of the scraper blade which is turned away from the tractor. so now in reverse it cuts in great and the wings guide the snow into the blade. Only got to use it 2x last winter and it worked great with the v going forward and the straight blade in reverse. This was by far the priciest option with the orig. cost of the scraper blade and the additional steel for the v and the addl. tubing for the framing support. It is nice having the extra weight in the rear.

But I am not done yet. On auction I bought an older tractor fixed 10' v plow that I plan to mount on the front loader I should be able to then elim. any plowing in reverse and elim the traction issue with a rear mounted snow plow.

That's a pretty slick setup you've got there, I like it.

This is my project for this summer. Building a frame to mount an 8' Western on my 1190.
