Lead paint on vac

None of us have died yet from sanding Case tractors of that vintage and repainting them.
If you are that conserned, about sanding dust and paint spray, by all means, buy yourself one of those pressureized space suits and go at your restoration of your VAC.
Personally, I do all my spray painting out in my back yard, and only use a simple respirator with screw on filters when doing final coats of CNH synthetic paint with hardender added.

If it has lead in the paint it wouldn't be very much. Lead isn't in all old paint. Lead was used as a pigment in white paint. The paint on a VAC is probably a mixture of red and yellow pigments. Just wear a paint respirator and you won't have any problem. Even if there is no lead you shouldn't breathe the paint dust anyway.
