here it is. i think just a paint brush and some paint will make it more palatable. what are the names of the 2 colors i need?

is this an original 3pt? the arms seem awfully long, and go very high.

Flambeau Red &Desert Sand comes to mind, and a litte Argent silver for the rims. We don't all get em painted right away, but ,we hope to get there someday!!

Some times you just got to wonder..... "What the heck was that guy thinking"?? The two tone colours they came with looked so sharp, and that black, just don't do it for me. And I don't think you could buy a 800 with anything but the Case eagle hitch,so those 3tp arms are off a doner. I'll just bet that tractor has seen some work over it's life. Glad Case came up with a better seat in later models.

You are correct! That is one ugly tractor!!! I like the looks of my 800, but I am going to put 3 point arms on it like yours have. Got them bought for 75 dollars and never could find the Eagle Hitch arms close to me.

They're nice tractors to use once you get the hang of the COM. Kinda thirsty though. You need a better seat, that's not original at all. Nice fuel line. Plenty extra for when it catches on something. At least your sheet metal is better than mine. Do you have both the chrome side strips?

Bill: The Top Link Brace is fantastic!! However, from what I can see in the picture, all the force is on the 2 Top bolts. I started to build one like yours, except I figured on bracing coming around & forward to the main housing attachment.

Bill,
Rich is correct about the 3pt arms being off a DB. Fred G should be able to make a deal with you to get the correct Eagle hitch arms. Someone did a nice job of fabing up the top link/pto shield on there. There are peiple here who would appreciate a close up pic.of that. The original design from Case was a cast peice that covered the pto shaft for 3pt tillage tools. Not the handiest design!! That one looks pretty nice.

Man that is ugly. Rivals my 1030 for ugly. Lol I especially like the chains around the axles for sway control, and the lengthened hyd levers look like they would be in the way to me. The drawbar is incorrect too, it's from a comfort king.

I made one like that in the 70's. Have used it on various tractors since. Is on a 800 now, never a problem. Use to pull a mounted Case field cultivator and 434 corn planter behind with the Case Optimum Tillage hitch and the bracket took the strain.

Is that one yours Chuck?? Sure a nice straight tractor. First Case diesel Dad bought was a 400 with fresh paint. I've got a gas 400, never have found a good 400 diesel to add to the group.

I've seen worse. You have to give the former owner some credit for original thinking in improving the tractor to fit his needs. Not very pretty though LOL. Don

wow! . bill thanx for posting pix ,.. I do like the top link braket too ,. should be ok to plow and bushawg however on a subsoiler the azend mite crak from all that pressure , especially if you snag a boulder ,!,. I think johns idea of trasferri ng the extra pain around to the rear housing is a durn good idea ,,. to be honest that paint job isn't half bad and probably looked cool and was a real exciting novelty until it dried.. LOL... there is a ugly tractor award at the jicc conference in liberty this weekend .. bill ,, you ought to load up and get some sunshine and kentuky brand hospitality.. it would be wonderful to see you .///////..anyways ,, how does she run out ,, ?? biggest concern is engine stamina and torque converter vitality ,, you mentioned psteering is not working ,,. how about hydro lift ? ,.. brakes and gauges and electrical ?,,. parts such as seat and eagle hitch can be found easy enuf,..if the 3pt worx well ,I would leave well enuf alone ,. unless you want to be a purist ,, in which case you should document each step you took bringing this ugly duklin around to being a prom queen ,..

no, i was in the wrong row to see that one sell. kind of irritated about it too, i had a D14 like it when i started farming, and had to sell it for $$ to help pay for a 4010. i wouldn't mind having one back.

John,

I was thinking about my reasoning for the bracket I built after you commented on this a month or so ago. The bracket Case made relied on the same attachment, putting most of the force on the top two studs, and I have not had problems with mine.

On the other hand, I want to know how anyone can climb up on that 800 to drive it without the eagle hitch arms and steps!!! Must have some long legs.

here is a close-up of the pto shield/ top link base. note there is also another spot to hook the top link at the top of the picture.

engine runs pretty smooth. doesn't seem to smoke much at all. the power steering just needed some dexron. brakes poor. gauge cluster nonexistant.

what appears to be the fuel line is actually a pto shift cable, being used as the choke cable. i hope it can stand the strain.
