Problems with power shift and Trans pressure on 1070

I am having hydraulic issues. As I RPM up my tractor after it is warm it starts to surge then the Trans pressure drops steering stops and hydraulic remotes quit but if I'm under 1200 RPM then all works fine. Help me please.

I am with ACG. My first guess would be the suction line. I would plug a coupler in a remote with a 6' hose on it. Put the open end of the hose in the dip stick hole, start the tractor and run full flow of the pump through the hose. Throttle it up slowly and see if the flow is all oil, or has air in it. If there is air in the oil there is a suction line problem.

I didn't mention this before, but You did check the oil level in the sight glasses didn't you????
Those sysptoms would be synominous with low oil level also. The sight glasses can be a bit confusing if they are dirty.

Sorry , double posted because trying to correct some spelling errors so adding some other thoughts, It could be as simple as low oil level especially the hydraulic surging part which I missed some how at first reading. Pump Orings are usually cut upon pump installation but could cause air entry into the suction stream causing chattering hydraulics and noisy lines.

All else is consistent with pump failure.

All the above things could cause problems and should be eliminated as suspects.

This problem is typical of loss of steering flow as the lube pressure is necessary for proper RPS valve function.

A flow test of the pump is in order, especially the 8 GPM side which is the steering/brake section, as the steering return is used to actuate the lube pressure regulator.

A quick check would be to see if the tractor stops when the steering is cramped against relief either way,

If so, i indicates there is not enough return flow to keep the Lube pressure up and the trans will shift into neutral.

This complaint is typical of a pump failure but they are to costly to not eliminate all options first.

Hey Loren where is the sight glass I checked the level with the dip stick is there another spot I am missing?

The 1070 has sight glasses in front of the LH brake on the trans housing. Both glasses should have oil in them.
