Got a look in the tranny on the 1030 today.
The 1st and 3rd slider gears are bad as you
can see in the pics. So that means both
sliders need to be replaced. We also pulled
the rear housing to look in there and that
was good, sort of. The differential and
bull gears all look good as well as the
pto. The bad news was that I tried to pull
the brake bearing holder out to get a
better look at the spider gears. I have a
service manual and it says you can do that,
but obviously not, broke the carrier. The
book clearly shows it comes out without
pulling the bull gear. Oh well, the carrier
was 1/2 broke anyway so it's good that I'll
have a New one. We are also going to have
to pull the 3pt valve apart because the
lever only moves about half way towards the
up position. So I'll have to pull that
apart to find that problem too. Since it's
all apart now that SHOULD be all the
problems.
