Madebthe first trop to the field today. Everything was better yoday than any time last year. I was able
to work right through all the low spots we never got done last year. Might rain tomorrow, but if we
don't get too much webwill be planting on monday.

Jon, Cold here in Northern Ohio by the lake. Starting to dry out but rain tomorrow. Hope you get planting done and have a bumper crop.

Jon!! We've had snow squalls & flurries here yesterday & today!! How you coming w/ the 1030? What did you decide on w/ the Camshaft?

Haven't gotten the replacement cam yet so don't know about that. Just need time to get it. There is a place I found close by that will redo the clutch for a good price, so I'll drop that off today. If the weather is good we will pull the tranny cover tomorrow and look in there. I'm a little scared of that based on what came out with the oil. I was just going to run it and see what happened, but now that we have the engine out I'll go through that too.

When I got the engine rebuilt on a 730 I bought I drove it out of the shop and found I couldn't get it in high range. Back in the shop and build splitting stands and replaced the shaft and seized gear. It's only money!

Yeah, as we have been going through this project when I come across something that needs replacing I would tell my son "that's not bad, only a few bucks". Finally he said "dad, lots of a few bucks adds up to a lot of money"! Lol, yep!

Don, Going to start working up my oats field tomorrow. Harrowed the headlands and dead furrow today. Should be able to plant in a few days if no rain and if TMFC gets my fertilizer spread. Al

Everything has come to a standstill here again. uncle Myron finished plowing the flats in fromt of the sugar house yesterday. Last field needing plowing.
The rain and snow has made the soil to wet for secondary tillage amd more planting. I guess they are going to spread fertilizer on some of the alfalfa ground over the weekend.
I'm still washing sap buckets, when it is warm enough that the water doesn't freeze on them. HeHe.

Hello Al,

I've been disking for the last couple of days for oats as well. Still chilly and damp up here. I'm sure looking forward to some warm weather they promise for next weekend. Don
