'51 DC Restoration

The Iowa State University Antique Tractor Club restored this DC during the school year and we just got done with it today. We took the whole tractor apart and replaced or repaired everything that needed it. Without the kind support from many individuals and businesses, we wouldn't be able to do what we do. It is now for sale and the club will be taking bids on it throughout the summer.

What are you going to do with it ? We used to do that with our FFA and sold raffle tickets made about 20000 per tractor

Great job everyone! As hannibal Smith of the A- Team used to say, I love it when a plan comes together, yours came together nicely. Mike

Very nice work indeed. I hope you do well with the sale so more worthwhile learning projects for the younger generations can be funded in the future.

I agree with the other poster that a raffle might be the easier way to maximize the profit. A DC can be a tough sell at a big money price tag but lots of people will speed a few dollars on a raffle ticket.

Thanks Mike! I think it came together pretty well. You probably recognize a few of the parts on it. Thanks again, Austen.

All through the restoration we have been brainstorming on a way to sell the DC because we knew it would be a tough money marker for the club. We thought about selling raffle
tickets but we aren't sure if we would be able to sell enough but like you said, people are more willing to shell out a few bucks for a raffle ticket. Last year when we sold our Massey
Harris 22 we displayed it at the farm progress show in Boone, Ia and took sealed bids on it but that was a tough sell as well. We sure do have fun working on them.

Congratulations to the club members on a job well done! That DC3 looks like brand new. Good Luck with the sale. Don

Our FFA would sell 10 dollar tickets at tractor shows and the farm progress show , Great way to meet people and make contacts. Also gets students use to interacting with people sold an average of 2200 tickets over the 6 tractors we did
