Well,

After 1 year and 3 months we finally put the last piece of steel on the shop/machine shed this morning. Now my Case toys won't have to be outside any more. Special thanks to my son David, and son-in-law-Jason, as well as Max Martin and everyone else who helped out. This was a really fun project, don't know if I'd want to do another any time soon. Don

I forgot to mention my old friend Jerry Nelson, who is on the lower portion of the building. Many thanks for all your help! Don

Wow, Don, that looks awesome! Very nicely done! I would love to rebuild my shop, into something larger. Have a nice 2000 sq ft old barn with 3 levels, beautiful siding job on it before we bought it, but my little 1300 sq ft shop is needing a makeover and size enhancement, haha!

Don, That is a really nice looking shop/machine shed. Some day this summer I am going to take time out to drive to Door County and see your shop and Case tractors. Looks like if the weather holds, might be able to plant oats by the end of the week. Al

It looks great Don. Those older tractors will treat you better for you treating them better, LOL. Now the time you spend tinkering will be a lot more enjoyable. Congrats, Rod.

Don, That is a beautiful looking shop you have there. Congratulations! I used to build pole barns years ago for a living. I do not miss those days though. Having the new shed is sure a great accomplishment. When is the shop party?.........LOL Enjoy!

Steve,

It is 64 x 116. The shop portion is 36 x 64 on the end pictured w/ windows. I stopped buying tractors about 5 years ago, need to stop for another 5 to pay for it.. LOL

Don if you don’t mind I am curious, is that a kit building?

I would like to have a building near that size someday and I’m curious if s set of plans or a kit is available.

Thanks for the kind words. This is, more than likely, the last building I'll do on the farm. Now it's up to the next generation. Don

I'm not sure you'd call it a kit building. We purchased the components from a Mennonite community who specializes in pole building components who are located in central WI. They took our home drawn plans and made a few suggestions and then figured out what individual pieces would be needed to complete the job. So far they have provided everything for the building on top of the frostwalls that we poured ourselves. I'm not certain what we are going to use for doors in the big openings yet. Next comes concrete for the shop floor. Don

Don, all I can say is I'm very happy for you! It is really nice to get all our old toys inside.
