BER Plow Project

I finally finished my 3X14 BER plow. This plow had been reduced to a two bottom, and I was able to find a beam to replace the third bottom. I installed new shares and shins, and added the hydraulic depth adjustment option. I also rebuilt and added the optional gauge wheel. I straightened, welded, and replaced the seals and bearings, in the bent and cracked furrow wheel. I cleaned, repaired, and painted all of the coulters. I also discovered that the main frame of this plow was indeed painted the plow red, not flambeau. When you compare the flambeau on the VAC to the plow frame, the plow frame actually looks lighter, but it is clearly a farmall-like red under the frogs. I plan on using this plow with my 54' SC (NOT the VAC). I also have, and have rebuilt, the correct accessory cylinder to go with it. I hope to have some pictures of the rig plowing later this spring. P.S. I also found out that my VAC will lift the plow without the rear coulter installed, but the pressure relief valve will not allow it to lift the plow with the last coulter in place. However, it will lift if I pull up on the draft arm while pulling the hydraulic lever. According to the manual, this plow weighs around 900 lbs.

I have the same plow and the frame is also red. Seems like the coulters are black and the wheels are yellow. I will look at it and see. Nick
