Ouch Again!!

Was pricing some CASE parts today and noticed a big jump in prices from about 2 weeks ago. Just got more expensive to re-build an SC, among many other pieces of CASE equipment. Was pricing out an 870 P/Shift job recently for a customer and was shocked--shocked at the many pieces not available anymore.

I was checking on a reverse shift fork for a 530ck the other day. They want 700 plus for just the fork. They want these tractors retired or junked plain and simple.

Boy, sounds like I'm not the only one surprised by the recent CaseIH pricing. I was expecting maybe $250-300 for the shaft, instead I had to brace for double. I have another 1370 to repeat this process with. Double ouch!!

one of the worst parts is that it makes the good used parts from salvage yards that much more expensive since they start at half of new cost...

It's not just old Case parts - I wanted to price out one of the steel hydraulic lines under the cab on my early magnum - NLA. Huh? :x I'd bet if you needed a similar part for a JD 7800 of about the same vintage you could get it. I got lucky and it was only an o-ring leaking. I've got a pretty good CIH dealer but it kind of sours you on red stuff anymore.

Notice we have price increases at the same time we supposedly have a strong dollar?

Whose trying to BS who?

This is the corporations trying to force old iron to the scrap yard.

Here is the problem I have, I couldn’t afford to buy one of their high priced new pieces of junk to replace my 930 let alone my 1370

Sounds like we need to find a way to make our parts!

You are 100% correct! The dollar is strong and our commodities are worth nothing. They don't want those old tractors still running. Don
