Started planting wheat...

After a week of drizzle that only left .10 of moisture, decided to plant the spring wheat. Dry as heck here, E SD, so the Great Plains no-till drill will save some moisture. Spread fertilizer and started planting. 2470 is way over kill on the drill, but the power shift is nice to turn on the ends.

We ain't doing any planting here. Still lots of frost and snow next to hedgrows.Yesterday we had freezing rain.

When my Wife delivered your mail a week ago Wednesday, that would have been April 1st, she told me one of your neighbors was planting corn??? She told me the name, but I cannot remember now. I asked if it was an air seeder planting wheat, but she said it was a corn planter with seed boxes for each row.

Yes, she was correct. Lakness Farms...they have a lot of acres and do start early. I'll probably wait until the 27th to start corn.
