Case 580B CK Roosta Master

I had my Roosta Master rebuilt by a professional who swears the pump is like new. The trouble is I'm getting nothing out of it. I have a gravity feed to the filters and I'm getting fuel to the pump but at the injectors it is dribbling. I have moved the shutoff valve back and forth with no change in the results. I pressurized the fuel tank with compressed air and still nothing coming out of the pump. Any ideas?

The Roosa-Master Stanadyne pump has its own fuel delivery pump built into it. So it makes no difference if the fuel source is gravity fed, pressure fed, or the injection pump has to use suction to feed itself fuel. Fuel just has to be air-free. Did you try the pump before you installed it? Easy to do. Just squirt diesel fuel from an oil-can into the fuel intake fitting while spinning by hand. Pump should start to click, turn hard, and then inject. If your fuel is air free, and pump is actually turning inside, and the metering-valve is in "run" position - it should bleed itself out pretty quick as start to pump fuel through the injectors.

I didn't test it myself I took the word of the shop that did the work. They have a very good reputation so I'm leaning toward to another issue. Yesterday it was pushing a steady amount of white smoke but today it seems to be from just one or two cylinders. I'm getting so frustrated I feel the next step is to just completely tear the tractor down again and start over. Check timing all over again.

Good news! It is running. Turns out the pump was 180 degrees off timing. Glad that part is over. I plan to finish it Saturday and maybe add some pics. Wish me luck.
