Here are a couple of pictures of the New To Me Case 1070. I believe it is a 1977, the serial number list on the left only goes to 1976 and I was thinking they made the 70 series until 1978, but I might be wrong.

The tractor has not been used since 1995, although it was started a few times in the interim. It has 4100 hours and everything works, including gauges, lights, flashers, you name it. The fan works but the AC needs charged (hopefully). The tractor looks and runs like a 4100 hour machine for sure. I ordered a Cab Kit for it. Other than the floor mat, which is still in the tractor, there is no other foam.

My plan was to use it on the swather. However, I noted in Tractor Talk that my Brother and I had a farm auction Saturday, and I bought back our White 2-135. The White is a super nice tractor that runs great, the cab is clean and stays clean, AC has all been rebuilt, and the tractor cab is considerably quieter than the 1070. The other side is the White is quite a bit larger and would not be as handy. Don't know which way to go for sure, but I sure like the 1070. I also have the little 300 roundnose that I sure love to play with, but it is just too small for much other than the rake or pulling trailers, etc.

Maybe I ought to see all three and buy one newer tractor. The more tractors you have the more batteries, flat tires, you name it, I will have to put up with. I also have a fairly new JD loader tractor, so I will keep that one for sure. Hard to decide what to do.

Anyway, thought you might like to see pics of the ole girl. Bob

Bob,
You have a very good lookin' 1070 there sir. I have a 1977 1070 also. Just a great tractor all around. Mine isn't a pretty shiny as yours though. LOL It looks like someone at least took care of it assuming that is original paint. I think you will enjoy it. But that depends what kind of work you have lined up for the ol' girl. My 1070 has around 5700 hours on it. Still love to hear her workin' hard. Enjoy.

Personally I would list the White and sell it. Obviously you had a reason to auction it. Then you can put tires on the Case. Could very well be actual hrs. Sweet tractors. Here's one I had 2 yrs ago. Orig paint,6200 hrs,2 owners. I did a cab kit and got air working, everything inc orig. radio worked. Sold to dairy farmer for haying (Ohio) for $ 10,500. Both of us happy. If finances were better I would still have it. Loved it. Very well built tractor.

Nice find for you.We had one of first an it had cast iron grill.Sold it with 7000 hrs .On the air conditioner you might want to check the high temp an low pressure cutoff an make sure the wires ar still connected an doing there job.High pressure or high temperature should conduct current to compresser clutch an if system is low in freon low pressure one will break the current flow.
