Case 210B rear wheel bolts

I removed the rear wheels on my tractor to paint and now I can't get them to stay on. I have to stop and re-torque the wheel bolts every 30 minutes. I'm wanting to replace the bolts but I'm having difficulty finding an on-line place that gives specifications of the bolts in order to make sure I'm ordering the right thing. The bolts are 5/8" x 2 1/8" with a 15/16" square head. Can anyone point me in the direction of how to order the correct bolts.

Unfortunately, if the holes in the stamped wheel center have become slots, then there is no way to keep the bolts from loosening. You must restore the holes, or replace the wheel centers. About replacing the bolts, you are taking a risk by ordering online, since the size of the head on square headed bolts is not always the same. You really need to see what you are buying. You might try ordering the minimum, and then measuring them when they come. I know how expensive these bolts can be. It cost almost $100 to replace most of the rim bolts on a Cockshutt "30" at work. When I removed the rims on my SC, I took pains to salvage as many originals as possible. I even bought two "parting bolt" sets to get what I needed.

Yea, the head size is what has me worried. I went to Tractor Supply looking for the bolts but they had nothing but jeans and shirts. What's odd though was the bolts were fine until I took the wheel off to paint.

McMaster Carr should have them, and they are pretty good about giving all the measurements. Just Google them.

Actually, the bolt in your picture looks decent. If you don't have problems with slots or sloppy holes in the wheel center, then I would look at the nuts. I would torque them and try a jam nut arrangement of some type. Someone already suggested Loctite.

The bolts aren't stripped, they just won't stay tight. I've been tightening them with a 24" breaker bar and it won't stay but 30 minutes. The one shown in the picture I finally lost the nut and washer.

Stephen, I wonder why your 210 utility has removable centers. I have had several of the 210 utilities and the centers are the non adjustable solid rim. My 211 row crop has what you have there. Either way the bolts that I have always removed were fine thread. If you can find replacements go with fine for more torque capability. Seems like Steiners is where I got some set recently.

I'm not sure what you mean by removable centers. There is a cast iron rear wheel weight bolted to the rear wheels.

I did look in Steiner's catalog and the only bolt listed was a hex head bolt.
