Thermostat Case 1370

I got a new thermostat, but it is not original.
Can I use it?
It fits, but it does not look like the original at all, and it does not have the function that it closes the bypass when it gets warm.

The shop manual says: "If thermostats do not fully open, the water will not be cut off completely to bypass hose, so water will continue to be routed back into engine."

Did CASE furnish it? One concern I have w/ aftermarket T'stats is, will they allow for sufficient flow after they open?

It is not made by CASE.
I do not think the flow is the problem.
The thing I am worried about is that this thermostat will not close the bypass.
What do you think about that?

Old thermostat is a Robertshaw, should still be available, new one is a Stant (or a Stant lookalike).

A Robertshaw should still be readily available.
