430 oil pump

made a stupid blunder today. didn't pay enough attention in turning the rite sleeve to align gear to gear on oil pump in torque tube. put in the 3 bolts and realized something was not rite. according to my dial indicator I probably tweeked the pump shaft about .007 of an inch. not much but? I am hoping it will be ok. time will tell.

I think you more likely deformed the pressure plate and possibly the friction plate hubs. Better check, if they are deformed the clutch can not disengage when you get it all back together and start the engine. This is not an uncommon problem that pops up on this forum.

The pic is a 310 but I think it is the same as the 430. The pic shows where the pump shaft splines touch up against the pressure plate hub. If the pump shaft splines do not mate and slide into the pressure plate hub, the hub is deformed into the friction plate hub and both are pushed toward the engine. Sometimes the friction plate hub may spring back some but the pressure hub will have to be pressed back to near original shape otherwise will not release. I really have not had much luck pressing either back to satisfactory condition. Other guys here said they have been successful. Good luck with it.

I am sorry, I jumped the gun on that, I am thinking the wrong assembly. Obviously my post does not apply to the pump dive assembly.

no as you say it is the two gears in the torque tube, one on the oil pump the other being the driver. I put a dial indicator on the little pump gear and it showed about .007 runnout, so I maybe bent the shaft a little? feel so stupid I know better, or at least I thought I knew better. (lol)
