Have a 1175 that we turned the screw to got 225 hp. Tractor has stock pump injector and lines with 3lm charger but little black smoke. would bigger injectors help. don't care if I have smoke just want more power

We just turned the screw under the back cover. when we turned it all the way it dropped to 217 hp so we set it back a round and got 225 again

Pardon me for not understanding, but 225 HP out of a 1175 & you want more??!! Drive train will never handle it.

He's tractor pulling John. 1170/75's will handle a lot more than that in a puller. He is getting close to needing a better clutch and water injection tho.

Bigger lines, bigger injectors, you will also want to adjust the governer rack, which is the big nut under the back cover. We had our 1175 close to 500 horse.

You don't have enough pump with a 9mm pump to make much smoke with that turbo. Here is one i put a 9.5mm pump turned all the way up with a stock turbo yet and very little smoke.

Stupid question but if you can get 225HP out of a stock 451, does the tractor run hot?

I guess I didn't realize you could get so much out of a stock 451

That is for a short run down the track for pulling, but close to 200 should be posible since a 504 will run at over 200 pretty well. My 1370 ran at 200 all the time in the field.

How much did you get out of the 9.5? we have three 1570 2590 2594 all turning 225 in the field never have a heating problem. My try to get a 10 mm from a 2670

Power wise out of the 9.5 don't really know the pto will never hold it so I didn't even try for them to know. The 10mm pumps off a 2670 will out do a 4690 pump. If you use one you will need to open up your injector tips to get the best results. Here is their 970 with a late 504 with a 3lm and 2670 pump turned all the way up. Totally stock other than that no inj work or anything. They have never ran it out of power at 10000lbs in 6th gear. We welded a pto unit one time and dynoed one set up like this I wrapped the needle back around to the starting peg on my dyno. So id say a easy 350hp at that point and it wasn't struggling at that. Click his name on the youtube video he has several videos posted.

Thad is that 970 a powershift or an 8 speed?

350Hp is a lot of power through a tractor rear end that normally runs 105HP

Its a 8 speed there are many running over 1000hp with very few modifications to the rear end. You take a guy I know who has one with a 504 bored and stroked ot to 640 cubes. He runs 9500lbs at 28 to 30 mph. Most put in a solid billet input shaft and needle brg the rear differential.
