I have located a Case 77, pto pull type combine. Had been used to combine praire grass seed about 5 yrs ago. Parked inside. What is the hp requirements for this machine? Any thoughts on a fair market value??

A 400 round nose was what Dad pulled one with. A 40-50 horse tractor should handle it. I have a 77 with a Case air cooled engine and it doesn't have near that many ponies to just operate the machine.

I paid $350 for my 77 a few years ago, the price was tempered by the fact the fellow wanted it kept, used and shedded not just busted up and allowed to set out. It's a pto and I use my Racine 400 diesel on it, and it works just fine, no strain

Mine will work my 400 diesel pretty good in heavy oats. I think I paid about $500.00 for mine in opperating condition with the original book.
