1030 case hydraulic problem

Skyhook

When I hook up my remotes it will raise up fine, but when lever is returned to neutral the implement goes back down. I took remote control valve apart and cleaned, replaced all balls, orings, and seals. Three point hitch works fine. Thanks

Not being smart here but did you hook up
correctly? On a 1030, you use the top
remote on the left and top remote on the
right as a pair. Do not use top AND
bottom on the left (or right) as a pair.
Most other tractors are configured that
way today but not the 30 series Case back
then.

Thanks Strawboss but that is the way I have allways hook them up. I have ran this tractor for years with no problem then it stopped working.

There are check valves that hold the load up, one could be leaking. Possible thermal relief leak or even a internal leak in the castings. The valve can be leak tested on the bench with a hand pump to figure out the faulty area if it is not visually apparent what to repair. Rod.

Thanks 1370 rod, but I have two 1030's and an 830 Case doing the same thing and I check the one valve I rebuit on bench when I had it off.

Skyhook I too have a 30 series that won’t hold a load. More than likely it’s the check valve.

I actually bought a new valve several years ago from a guy on Ebay and that new valve is now causing a problem similar to yours.

I think my problem comes from moisture contamination in the oil.

Personally I think your lucky to have 2 1030 Cases. I love my 930's but at times I wish I had a little more HP

If the cylinders you are using are not leaking the only other place the oil can leak away is the valve. I do rebuild these valves if that is of any interest. Rod.
