1962 Case 930 Comfort King Standard

I have this tractor serial no.8197525. It has the elevated platform and rear fuel tank, round red fenders, fixed front axle, diesel six speed and hand clutch. Original decals on hood say 930 Comfort King. I would like to know how many of these were built in 1962 because the books I have read say the Comfort King came out in 1965.

A bunch of them. To be more exact, 2892 in 62, 3849 in 63, and 4391 in 64. We had a 62 with a foot clutch. The Comfort King came out in 62. The Draft-O-Matic came out in 65.

There were only standard (western)930s until the draft-o-matic w/ 8 speed and dry clutch came out in 1965. No row crops until then.

All the production of 930 prior to the DOM tractors were standard/wheatland build. No adxustable axles, and no 3pt. Just tugs with/wo dual hudraulics and pto. Foot clutch was an option, and the only other varient was type of fuel, diesel, lp, or gas.

The 930CK was offered in the Standard and Wheatland tractors when they came out. I have a 1963 930CK diesel hand clutch 6 speed chain driven tractor. In 65 this tractor was changed some and was called a 930CK Western and had the square back fenders on it, And in 65 the row crop 930CK came out in narrow front or wide front with 3pt with the 8 speed transmission. I think (I maybe wrong) but in 64 or 65 the old 930CK standard was dropped from the lineup completely. Form 65 on term Standard, Wheatland and Western all became terms used for a tractor with a solid front axel no 3pt and made to pull equipment.

With all that said hear is a picture of a 62 930CK Standard, A 63 930CK Wheatland, A 65 930CK Western and a 66 930CK Row Crop. I hope I got this all right and is as far as I know. Bandit

Mine is like your second picture with the elevated platform, but is a 1962 and has a hand clutch. Thanks for the pics.

What about a side mounted belt pulley ?? Is the standard 930 the only one that had the pulley or the place for one ?? I know that it was a spline drive pulley and not all 930's had a place for one.

Just so we don't promote confusion, your 1st picture and your list note the 62 as a 930 "CK" Standard which it is not. Somebody put the wrong decal on that tractor as it should not say Comfort King on the hood. What makes a Comfort King is a rear fuel tank, a higher and more forward seat position and front fender access to the operators station instead of rear access.

Comfort King tractors all have these features BUT......it doesn't matter if you call it a standard, western or wheatland, depending on the year model, they can also have round or square fenders, six or eight speed, foot clutch or hand clutch, Chain drive or gear drive, and late westerns could even have 3 point as an option.

The one your talking about is just like mine. I bought mine off Ebay 5 years ago and had it hauled out of Copeland KS 1000 miles home here in Ohio. It has become the heavy work tractor and I really like it. She is a brut that's for sure. I do know ware one is with big rubber on the back like the one in your picture, It hasent been run for a few years. Bandit
