Have I got the wrong thermostat?
I bought new thermostats, but they dont look like mine, even though they will fit.
But so I red the repair manual, and it says:
"If thermostats do not fully open, the water will not be cut off completely to bypass hose, so water will continue to be routed back into engine."
It looks like the wide bottom part of the original thermostat is supposed to cut off the bypass.
But the new thermostat does not have this wide bottom part, it will just open and close, so it will not cut of the bypass.
Whats your opinion? Should I use it or not?
