Does anyone remember the name of the Case dealer in Oxford NY? I think there was one there, but I just don't remember it.

You are correct. I think he was pretty much gone by the late 60's. There was also a small dealer in Sherburne in the 50's run by Edmund Gardner.

Yes for sure there was a Case Dealer there. I can't remember the date but I worked for Freddie Goodrich and he was the Auctioneer when we sold them out after they closed.

Can't help you but there were a bunch that closed during the 1960's in Western New York and the Southern Tier. That gave rise to Monroe Tractor and SC Hansen with their multiple locations. They had the leverage when the Case IH merger took place to replace even more dealers.

Bob Carey was his name, remember the auctioneer with the hardhat I put up for a couple of items? Never heard from him again. How's old scovey? It's snowing here today bet you have it nice. Taking a load to Dennis"s tomorrow. Narrowing the date down for Dicks auction looks like it will be 1st Sat in June.

Fred is correct on Bob Carey. Before him it was Russell Race for 15 years, and before that it was Bob Race. This information comes from a friend of mine who is married to Russell Race's daughter. Bob also would have been her uncle.

If you're still working on that list of old Case dealers, Jones Equipment in Gouverneur NY is still in business. Paul Jones died a few years back, but Gary Jones is still kicking.
