Reinstall cylinderhead, Case 1370

Do I have to do something to get the cylinderhead in exactly right position?
The manual says something about "aligning dowels" are recommended for gasket installation. But I do not understand why, because the sleeves will make the come in the right position.. (?)
Will these dowels also make the cylinderhead come in the right position? Or must the dowels be removed before installing the cylinderheads?

Henrik,

I have done many of those engines and have simply bolted the water manifold on and tightened it down without gaskets while the heads are still loose.

The manifold must be in good condition on the gasket surfaces of course but that method has been more than adequate for me, I'm wondering how many Case mechanics actually use the dowels, Ive never seen a set of them.
