53 engine with 3 5/8 aluminum pistons. Tractor is a 50. Pulled cam and crank. Had the valves ground. New piston rings and new 'O' Rings on Sleeves. All new gaskets of course. Used the old bearings they wern't too bad. Did find out you can't get main bearings for an s or sc other than re-manufactured bearings that have to be fitted? Rebuilt the brakes. Replaced several seals. Brakes, PTO shaft, Clutch shaft, and others. New guages and sn# plate and new front tires. Took a lot of hrs to sand blast and wire brush every little part. three coats of Van Sickle paint on everything.

Should be Steve. I have a couple parades before the end of April for it. I don't want to mention our weather out here. Those guys East of us are really cathing it. 65 here today, they say 70-75 Sat? Dick

Very nice tractor. It is always the most fun when they start to go back together. Was going to mention that I thought everyone has snow that just won't go away! Just my view from here I guess. Please show us the finished product, kind of fond of the S series tractors. Allan.

You say you are using " Van Sickle " paint ... are using the HARDER too .. sure looks great ..
I ask because I'm redoing a 444 and using Van Sickle paint with the harder...

THANKS ,.... mark

I'm not a paint expert but I don't want to pay a paint shop a fortune to do my painting. I have been using Vansickle paint with hardener. It works good for me.
