question on S-SC flywheel.

I'm putting my flywheel and clutch back on rebuilt engine. I can't really see where the flywheel fits any certain position? Looks like it will fit the bolt pattern anyway I want to position it? Only thing I can think of is to have the #1 cyl at top dead center and set the flywheel mark on side where plug would be to check timing. Any one got any ideas. Dick, OR.

Been a while, but as I remember the holes look equally spaced but are actually slightly different. We all know how memories go - bad.

Your luck must be a WHOLE LOT different than mine. Mine ALWAYS fit in the 6th position tried. When I plug a 2 prong grinder, drill, etc. in an outlet I ALWAYS have to turn it over to get it to fit!

I put punch marks on the F.W. and crank before I take it off , those things are too heavy to mess with !
