LED lights for 6 volt

Both of my Cases (DC and VAC) and dare I say my Farmall M still run on their 6 volt systems without complaint. One issue is if you have all three lights on the generator cannot keep up. Not a huge issue since I do not do a lot of night work. However I was looking at LED lights. All the ones I see are rated 9-32 Volts. I can use them in my Wheel Horse Garden tractors and even my M37 (24v). Why the prejudice against 6 volts for LEDs. Any one found some???

If you can't find 6 Volt units, here's a option.

Small 6 VDC to 12 VDC converters are readily available, and for the power the LED's will draw, HOPEFULLY the current draw will be much less than the original lights, even with converter losses.

GOOGLE "6V to 12V converter".

Regulators on the Cases..cutout on the farmall. I could not use the back light but I was just thinking it would be nice if leds were a possibility. The generator makes about 12 amps the 3 lights draw about 15....

I just checked eBay, and there are several sellers listing 6V LED replacement bulbs for vintage cars for about $11.00 a pair. If your charging systems are working properly, then you should be able to run all of your original lights (with original CP bulbs) without discharging the battery (you should be able to get a small charge). The cutout system on the M will need the correct light switch to excite the fields properly to do this.

did you know they make a 6-volt alternator? there are high output 6-volt generators to-- but why not switch to 12 volt and be done with it? I use to use a 6 volt genny off of a 50-53 ford pick-up (with the regulator) they would put out 30 plus amps!that would keep up just fine.

Each light emitting diode (LED) only has about a 1.2v drop across the junction when it is operating. Either they have wired several devices in series or they are using a current limiting (voltage dropping) resistor in series with the devices, or both to get to the rated voltage on the package. The materials used in the diode determine the exact voltage and color of light but in round numbers it is 1.2v.
