Have To Keep Good Help Happy!

I had to chuckle when the father of a very good customer came driving up in their 1070 and said. I am not helping my son in the spring if I don't get a decent seat in this tractor. What the poor fella was sitting had a worn out suspension and gunny sack for a cushion. Well that was a easy problem to fix. He was grinning from ear to ear as he drove away perched on that new air seat. Rod.

Yes if it was up to me the cab kit would have gone in at the same time. Oh well, one thing at a time, LOL. Rod.

Where did you get the seat and what did it cost? Does the cab have enough room for proper fore/aft movement? How much time and modification to install? Sorry for all the questions, but even though our 1070 has a good original seat (rebuilt twice) these new seats are a lot more comfortable at the end of the day.

This seat is made by Sears Mfg. They are a high quality seat and are used in some OEM products. They can be bought from different vendors, I get them from K+M MFG because they are in the cab business and very helpful. Cost depends on dealer and seat model, this one is around $850 plus a pedestal kit and frt gets to around a grand. Hours would range from 2-5 depending on lots of stuff. Seems like a lot of $ till you spend a day on one. They work great in these tractors, I have had one in my 970 for 20 yrs and would never go back to the OEM seat. Rod.

Here is the one we put in our 870 that we are building for our sprayer.

Used square tubing to make the base.

This one is an air suspension that we mounted under the original seat on the 1970 870 that we bought new. Did this 15 or 20 years ago.
