Getting ready for plow days

Some may think this belongs in the GT forum, but hey, it's a Case! Took some time the last couple of weeks to try and get ready for the garden tractor plow days. Upgraded my '68 155 GT with the somewhat elusive E-25 hydraulic lift kit, fabbed up a front weight bracket, and made a beefier lift bracket and arm. Still have to paint the new pieces but I think that will wait until spring.

That is just plain cute. Looks like a great machine and fun to boot I envy You. Please post some pictures after the event or for that matter during the event for the rest of Us.

You are at the spot it belongs, yes it is a CASE. Looks great, if you do some plowing show us some pics. I have one for my 444 but have never used it, Rod.

Bill sure glad you did post it here, that is a nice looking "155", I remember them sitting in our showroom new.
Bet you have fun plowing with her.

Thanks for taking the time to post and share with us.

Here is the link to one of the videos from a couple of years back in Ottumwa, IA. The soil was sandy so it plowed easy. I pull a 10" Brinly. I'll be getting a new share soon so hopefully it will get in the ground all the way. If it doesn't, I can throw a little weight on the beam. Easy to lift now with the hydraulic lift.

Very nice .. THANKS for sharing ... can I ask how much weight did you hang on the front ..???

make sure you take pictures during and after the plowing day ...

............. mark

Mark, I believe each weight is 32 lbs, so 64 on the front and 64 on the rear. I wasn't getting any slip with all four weights on the rear and was getting so light in the front that the plow would steer me. That is why I switched things around.

This thing is mostly original barring the few pieces I had to paint out of necessity. The seat pan and cushions are reproduction. Under the hood is the original engine, but I rebuilt it in 2007. The pump and motor are original as far as I know. I checked the clearances between the stator and rotor last fall and it was actually too tight causing binding issues. I spent some time with emery cloth and made it better but I am considering replacing the motor.

I do get a lot of comments at plow days at how amazed people are that this does as well as it does. There are a lot of 155s out there, but very few work them as hard as I do. Just shows that the Case GTs are tough and built to last.
