More work on the 300

Well tore into it a little more today. The lower portion of the fenders are rotted out but we should be able to save them. I removed the gauge cluster and it will need work. When the fire melted the battery it let the acid corrode the interior of the compartment including the cluster.Fingers crossed the glass protected the inside of the gauges.
one picture shows an interesting valve on the transmission. What originally went in that threaded port? Just the hydraulic return line?

Still looking for some tires for it. There are some cheaper ones for sale in Des Moines that I'm interested in.

I am glad to see that you have jumped into this resto/ You will spend more than you want to, but you will have great stories to tell and one fine tractor to show! Chuck
 
My 300 doesn't have a gauge cluster anymore. Someone pop riveted a piece of sheet metal over the cluster opening and cut holes in it to accommodate individual gauges. It looks pretty good. No tachometer or fuel level gauge though.
 
That is a selector valve mounted in the Eagle hitch hydraulic line. It would be used to supply hydraulic supply and return for remote single acting cylinder(s).

The valve simply selects the Eagle hitch OR a remote cylinder system for operation. This is some times used to operate the lift cylinders on a front loader.

He would be better off finding a replacement for sure Loren ,,, They mite have one at Ruscha ,, too ,,
 
Well while we're on the subject of gauge clusters - I could use a repairable one too. I have 2 that only have Big holes where the gauges were.
