This tractor, a 1370 had a small coolant leak letting anti-freeze drip into the crankcase oil. The owner said he never noticed coolant in the oil and I did not either when I drained engine oil. I did have to poke my finger up into the pan to clear the hole so the oil would drain out. I thought what the he!! is going on. I do not know if some kind of reaction has occurred between oil and coolant but this is the worst mess I have ever seen. This gunk is about like cool roofing tar, it can not be wiped out because it just smears. I believe the owner when he tells me it does get the oil changed at 100 hrs and he has never had a problem draining out the oil. The last pic is most of the gunk I scraped out of the pan with the 1/64 tractor just to show the size of the pile. This engine will be overhauled and actually the crank and brgs looked pretty darn good. These large journal 504's can take a beating and still keep on ticking, Rod.
