(quoted from post at 15:44:56 02/07/15) Yes it will. Not sure which clutch you can use with which housing, (6 cylinder vs 4 cylinder)

I always wondered about that. Would the trans/final drive be able to withstand the extra horse power?

They are about as tough as they come factory stock. There is a fellow in southern Il that pulls in the Il Hot Farm that used a 700 rear end for many years behind a juiced up 504. I think he finally switched to a 930 rearend. We have a NA 451 in front of a 830 com and run it up to 8500 ilbs with no problems yet. You can see it on youtube at 13kelseysue then look for clarksburg pull.

Jerry,

I just looked at that video from Clarksburg. That's a tough running tractor. Can't beat a good running COM.

Didn't find the 6 cylinder 700 yet, but did find this one.

I Have A 400 rear and I know where a 504 motor is I can get if I get a 930 hood and grill. will the hood match up to an 830 fuel tank

To do it right you need hi tin sheet metal to get the 504 under. The 504 will not bolt to the 6 speed trans of the long nose 930. The hood from a comfortking will be too narrow to fit over the fuel tank. Only way I know to do it is use a hood from a high tin four cylinder tractor and cut it in half and put a piece in the center then both ends will be right width.

Google for a case 930 pulling. There is a nice one on there with a narrow front and probally pulling in high 2nd or maybe high 3rd. It is a nice looking tractor

Yes, and if you use a 930/1030 clutch housing and power shaft and a 900 front bolster, the wheelbase will only be about 3 inches longer that it was with a 4- banger on it. You'll have to run a wide front, but you can run a 15 inch clutch if you need it. I plan on building that setup someday and have all the parts to put it together. I also plan on building my own front bolster to make it even shorter. Now I just need 36 hours in a day to get it all done!
