Need help on PTO install on 530 COM

I have a 530CK loader. Diesel, three point draft control,8 speed, forward/reverse lever with no PTO. It has the PTO blank cover. Can I install an independent PTO unit I have and if so what needs to be done to install it? Thanks. Dick, in OR.

Hello you can't put a pto in a shuttle tractor as there isn't a hole thru the shuttle drive shaft for the pto shaft

Wrong,,, a shuttle 530CK can have a pto I have one here, if it is a standard trans with shuttle it can only have a non-live pto, a com with shuttle unit can have a independent pto but you have to change the through shafts, it is not a easy job but it can be done

Thru shaft? is that the shaft thru the trany or shuttle? Does the tractor have to be split? Dick

yes, it will have to be split at least once to get to what you need to change, you also need a donor tractor to pull the parts from so you get every thing right, it is not a real easy swap to install pto on shuttle tractors, I would suggest a parts book to make sure all you will need before starting, I do not seem to have a 530CK parts book here sorry, you may be able to find it on line @ CASE Construction
