Looks like the sleds weight made it to the end so you must have had a pretty good pull.Did you spin out or run out of power? Looks like a fun.

That is my son on the tractor he started in third range went to third powershift then back to first at the end pulled the front wheels up about a foot and spun out at the end. There where 15 tractors in the class he was the only four banger finished 10 place in front of two ih 966 a 1135 Massey a 5130 case ih and ih 986. I was really impressed with the 870!

Sounds like you had the 870 weighted right. Can you go with bigger tires? Most of the pullers around here like the over half worn 23degree firestones. Pretty impressive to be pulling in 3rd and 3rd. What weight class?

The 870 has 16 9 34s on it could go bigger. The class was 12000 lbs the 870 weighed 10500 lbs. He wanted to pull it really just for fun. We use the tractor to farm with. We worked on it had to rebuild the motor and trans, after we got it done he wanted to pull it I guess to see if our mechanic work would hold up that's what I told him anyway!
