LA Propane and DC4

What do you guys think an LA propane in good shape is worth? It was running but has been a few years. Not stuck and fairly straight.

Also a DC4 that is complete but stuck. Only thing missing is the cast grill on the front. Tires are bad.

Thanks!

Bryan

A 1949 LA retailed for $1652.00 from the dealer .How far off is the asking price? I was once asked how much blood are you willing to let? A DC? $700. My 2 sense worth!

So when your talking in good shape, your saying 50% rubber, shedded?, tin straight, I would say 1000.00-1500.00 for the LA
I bid on a gas LA 30% repainted looked good and went too 2000.00 2 years ago

Back in about 96, we drove to Lamar MO and picked up an LA case propane that had been sitting a long time. It ran good and the tires were the original.
Paid $600 for it. Used it to build a pond with a pull type dirt pan and pulled a disc for several years. Great tractor.

To be honest I know nothing about the tractors. A guy called me out of the blue and heard I was interested in old case stuff. All I know is what he told me on the phone. He is hauling them to the junk yard on Monday or Tuesday and fortunately, my farm is on the way to the junk yard so he is going to stop here first. If I can buy them, it will save him a few miles anyhow! I just cant stand seeing these machines go to CHINA!!!

I dont know where you live but If there is something you dont want but are willing to buy. remember there's plenty of guys on this site that may be willing to take something off your hands. I personally am sick and tired of seeing ole case iron going to China. Any case that can be saved needs to be saved even if its used for parts. Good luck!

Dont recall your location, however I might buy one
just to keep them alive . Thanks for being
interested enough to try to save our american
iron. I am in indiana, southern.I just got one
home recently from Iowa, do not need it but wanted
to save it from scrap. It is a CC very straight,
loose, on cutoff rubber. Case guys I would sell it
to interested folks for paid price plus gas spent
on trip.

It is not too often that somebody shows up at your door with a couple of tractors that they want to unload. My experience is usually I have to drive a couple hundred (thousand) miles, Look at the tractor, haggle for a while, and then maybe haul it home. (The tractor does not always follow me but usually it seems to!) On the way home you always have a flat or a truck problem or more recently a DOT problem that turns the day trip into at least an over night trip. So, by the time you figure loosing a day or two of work, the fuel, the wear and tare, the new tire(s), The fines, and many times the new friends you have met, and the whole adventure, should you pay more for the tractor that is hundreds of miles away or for the ones delivered to your door? That is a tough question!!! The journey has to count for something!!! :D
