PTO Vacuum Switch

I have a Case 1190; reading in the I&T Manual, it refers to a vacuum switch on the bottom of the PTO. Does anyone have any ideas what this does? Does it assist with shifting the PTO or maybe a PTO "neutral" switch? I've had this tractor a little over a year and the PTO has never engaged very easily since I've owned it. I found the wire to the so called vacuum switch today, and its shot, just about to fall in two. Maybe part of why its so hard to engage?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,
The switch/light indicates whether or not the filter should be changed. It has nothing to do with the pto.

+1 to this. Odds are if the switch is falling apart, so is your hydraulic filter.

If the PTO is hard to engage you need to adjust your clutch.
