My reply is 2 or 3 pages back so repeating here. No c3 reading was hole in wrong place in control unit cover. all other gaskets/holes seem correct. C4 tested ok. 200 lbs pedal down, zero pedal up. So... looks like I have to go inside. :(

Allenc,

Had you put new gaskets on there lately? Do get that surge when you push the clutch pedal down,

Allen,

We need the pressure in C4 with the clutch depressed. I suspect you are not getting the surging that indicates C4 application, if so there is a problem, it could be as simple as an adjustment if all else is well.

If you would use modern view any answer to your post would move the thread clear to top spot 1st page, I will not use classic.

When you open the forum you can see if your thread has any activity immediately and you wont have to sort. through 3 pages to find it. In modern view your original post is only 7 down from the top.

Heres what I've found so far. When I did the pressure test everything checked out. C4 pressure goes to 200 when you step on the clutch and you get the little bump when you depress the pedal. I couldn't test c3 because of the gasket problem. I have removed the control valve and there are no obvious problems like sticky pilots, but I haven't gone through all of it yet. We've decided to split it as I cant find anything that would cause the problem otherwise. Confession... the trans oil wasn't at 100 degrees when I tested it, more like 50. so it might not register a small leak. It seems to load the engine a little when you have your foot on the clutch pedal so I suspect a draggy clutch problem, but wouldn't c4 try to stop it anyway??
