1030 ck went to look at it today

the three point does not go down looking for advice could it be the check valve causing that it started right up warmed up real nice needs a front tire and it is wide front end the gentalman said he was told it was around 1970 year model could not find the serial tag though the rear tires are 34 inch fron are 10.50 16 if that is any help to the year

The serial tag should be under dash lower left side wen seated on tractor my 830 comfort king somtimes does go up but if i wiggled the remote hyd lever it works idk why i dont use the 3 pt cultivating and moving bales blowin snow hope this helps

latest it could be is a 1969, if it is it will have spin on fuel and oil filters, there are a couple other small things only a 1969 will have, those are the two easiest to see

I bought an 830 that had been sitting awhile that didn't go down it was just stuck from sitting,I put some weight on it and it went down it works great now

did not see oil cooler on tranny but it had the spin off or on throw away filtersanything i need to know that maybe a real problem i am possibly going to trade a car for it

check the trans/rear end oil, condition and level, they have to be full or better yet Over full at all times, make sure the hi/lo works easy and is shifting full into gear, run it and make sure all gears work correctly, steering should turn easy when tractor is moving, they had a power assist system that does not always turn when sitting, a lose/worn belt will make her squeal when turning as well as badly worn pulleys, not a deal breaker but can give you a bit of leverage when dealing on it, good idea to look at coolant condition as well, you may not be able to see it in the rad when cold, good idea to look at it when warmed up while running for bubbles, also the brakes can be damaged from running with the brakes set, they are not hard to repair just another barging chip in the pile

thanks for all the info trying to make a good decision the raidiator was low below the cores but while running i seen antifreeze curculating so not to lowhe is going to try and get another tire on it so as to drive it around then i can check it all out

CNT,

Curious how you can damage the brakes when running with them set. Don't they hold very well and you can drive with them set and not notice it?

Ron in MN

They work Just fine when the discs aren't glazed and the ramp return springs are not stretched out, you have never ran one with the brakes in good condition, the ones I have are keep in shape and with little pedal pressure I can slide them easy,,, you just trying to wind some one up I guess,,, nothing new here bad mouth some thing with out knowing facts
cnt

Let us know what color the steering column is, it will help us a little.
Oil cooler might help, but we put some kits on.
As Tom mentioned the spin on oil filter might help too.
Also the height sometimes of the air cleaner stack.

No, No I wasn't trying to bad mouth anyone or anything.

As I mentioned, I was just curious because as you said, I have never driven one and just wanted to know.

Sorry for any offense as it truly wasn't meant that way.

Thanks Ron,,, sorry to get a bit testy,,, I keep hearing how "bad" the brakes are on a 60 year old machine that have been abused and never fixed correctly,,, power brakes they are not, but they do work very well if the parts are in good working condition

We just had the same problem with our 930. Had to remove the fuel tank and the plate covering the linkage. Found that a pin had jumped out out its place. Book shows an e clip but ours had no place for one. Have checked several parts tractors and have not found one with a e clip. Ours also had a spacer missing and the linkage was not screw tight with its mating part. I think this was our problem, but time will tell. Steve
