Case 311 muffler gasket

One of the ears is broke on my manifold where the muffler bolts on. SOmeday I would like to replace the manifold, but not right now.

I have the muffler rigged up pretty good with a large washer and nut and bolt, and some wire(of course!) to support it. But I noticed there is no gasket.

I have been looking on line but cant find a the gasket where the muffler bolts to the manifold. I would think that gasket probably fits other tractors. Any ideas on where to find one?

Also, any tips on bolting on a new manifold when I take on that project?

Remove the manifold, weld on a piece of steel to replace the missing piece, drill it to fit, and get a piece of manifold gasket material from an auto parts store. DO NOT WELD ON IT WHILE ON THE TRACTOR OR SPATTER AND SLAG COULD GET PAST AN EXHAUST VALVE AND TRASH THE RINGS!!!

Unfortunately, I dont know how to weld. I plan to learn but I want to patch my exhaust for now with a gasket. i will get some gasket material and make one. It just seems like I could just buy a $5 gasket. Exhaust gasket material is much more than that on ebay.

Forget fleabay. Go to an auto parts store, buy a 12" x 12" sheet of exhaust gasket material. You can make more gaskets out of the leftover sheet for next exhaust/hi-temp type gasket you need.

The intake & exhaust manifolds use one gasket Case original p/n VT3394. The p/n was changed to A30030, that p/n nr may have been changed again.

Most of the p/n's in the pic will have been changed. A dealer should be able to update them.

Thanks Joe. The gasket I need is where the muffler mounts to the manifold. Looks like part number 0562 40. Its a small oval gasket with 2 bolt holes. I will just make one. Thank you for the help once again!

I assume you mean the gasket where the exhaust elbow bolts to the manifold. We keep that gasket in stock. e-mail is open.

Yes John, thats it. I called myself looking on the web site to find it, but couldnt. And Im sorry, but I dont know what "email is open" means.

If you look at the bottom of my posts, it says "Send E-Mail". Click on that & you can e-mail us. or, 315-585-9826.

Thats it! Sorry, but I dont see an option to send you an email in your post. I clicked on your profile and tried to send you a PM, but it wouldnt let me. Maybe I can search your site for that part # and order it that way.

I have been lucky enough to find the right gasket at a local
exhaust shop for a couple bucks, but not all shops will have it.
If you are looking for a manifold I have a good take off
manifold sitting on the shelf.
