Please Don't Do What I Did.

About 25 years ago I rebuilt and painted this 1370. I had seen one with the chassis painted black which back then I thought looked good. Ever since I have regretted doing that. To make matters worse it had been painted before, and that paint adhesion failed making a ugly mess it is today. Every time I have seen black paint over power red this occurs to some degree. I kick and cuss myself every time I see this tractor. The Power Red makes for a much better looking tractor, what was I thinking! Rod

It looked good When You First Painted it /Are you going to Try to Repaint it Some Day ? !We all so have a 4890 that some one painted IH RED & Black / Not US .It looks like Crap =the Black is doing the same as the one in the photo ,black coming off & showing the CASE Paint .The Worst Case Tractor Painted Red& Black Was a 930 I Saw at Goodrich Tractor Parts .Sure would take a lot of Sand Blasting & Paint Remover ,To get Ready to Paint them Back to CASE Colors!

Don't sweat it! It's no where near as bad as the guy down here who painted the belly of his 970 FORD BLUE! Talk about ugly!

There was a farmer with a 1030 case we would see back in the 90's that he painted white with a black belly and black wheels and the outside rims silver. It was done up nice and looked sharp. I haven't seen it in 10 years or so, he runs magnums now. Dad did something similar with his DC back in the 70's to make it look like a 70 series.

My dad has a 1394 that was safety yellow originally. The previous owner painted it appliance white and AC orange to "match his 990". I sprayed some black on the chassis to try to fix the ugly, and just made it worse I think. Orange and Yellow shining through the black.

Well Rod, Our Neck of the woods would be real fine if that is all we had to live with that wasn't just right.

But Hey, I understand those kinds of regrets. It must be aging that does it to us.
