930 manifold gaskets, John Saeli

I have been working on my new to me 930 diesel and one of the first things was to address the exhaust leak. Number 1 and 2 ports looked pretty rough so I built them up with nickel rod and took it to the machine shop to get squared up. I went to my local CaseIH dealer to get a new set of gaskets for it. When they told me the price... I nearly fell off the stool. They wanted 35 dollars.. EACH, for the 3 gaskets I needed. I told them I could do better than that. I called external_link and talked to John. $38 for the entire set. Just shows it pays to shop around, and it pays to have guys like John around!! Thanks again John!

Do you have the steel rings that go in each exhaust port? They are usually missing on any Case engine I take the manifolds off. Makes for a better seal if they are there.

I like dealing with John also. The first time I used him he told me it would be cheaper if he billed me. I asked how "I didn'thavean acct he said "could he trust me" I said yes - he said then you have an acct.
Great guy. I'd never let him down. Especially because of his trust in people.
