Case 300 Progress

The clutch wasn't acting like it should when I pressed down on it so we decided to split the tractor. Here is what we found.

Ah yes, the old mouse in the clutch housing trick! Had that happen to my 200 also. Always wonder where they can find that much crap to drag in there.

You need a push-in cover for your timing hole. I used the metal ones. The newer ones have shorter tangs and don't grip very well. Look around you should be able to find the older style with the longer tangs.

Those damn mice will find a way in almost anything. A few years ago I split a 300 that had been sitting in a grove for a few years. It was so full of mouse crap and litter that it caused a major rusting problem on everything in there. I had to use a portapower cylinder to get the tractor apart tearing the pressure plate. The shaft was rusted tight in it. Rod.

We had the same problem. Had to you a block and bottle jack to get the motor away from the bell housing. Made 2 big pops and came free.

Not unusual, my 210b had animal hair. Maybe from cattle.

Yup I.ve had the mouse attacks too. I love it when you start it - "rocky the flying mouse" flies out with most of his family.
