Case Size B Rock Crusher

We have a Case Rock Crusher that we would like to sell. Size B is the larger of the two machines that Case made. I would appreciate any help you could offer on what a fair price would be. We tried the "make an offer" route but everyone just asks what we want for it. How can we figure out what it's worth? Thanks for your help.

Where is it at? How big of throat does it have? Total weight?
I need it to someday to crush the concrete shoes on my 1928 B Case tractor. Would the gravel sell on Ebay? Bidding may start at $1.00 a lb.
For now all I got rocks in me shoes.

how much you want for that crusher. ( (HMMMMMMMMM) model b tractor ???? ehhhhhh...you sure thats a crusher or a picker ? model B case tractor ??? i has to rub my chin on that one.... looks like model C cement in them wheeeeeellllsss..maybe ill buy both when i gets my stimulis check....

Don, do you have the threaded part[rod] on the crank on the right side of a eagle hitch on a 51 DC? If that makes any sense. Or where I might find one. It's over at the kids house and some how it broke!!! Also I like your taste in beer. I'm drinking a Sheel's Firebrick right now. Made in New Ulm. It's a little spendy tho. Dale L.

I saw it at the Case Collectors' show at Baraboo, WI last month. It's definitely a model B, predecessor to the C. Note the different manifold, and I doubt that Don is willing to sell it.

I am sorry that no one seems to be able to help you determine a fair price for the rock crusher.

This is probably because so few of these change hands over the years that there is nothing to compare to.

Unfortunately it is most likely worth a bit over scrap price. I am sure that it is very heavy though. What condition is it in? Will it require a lot of rebuilding? Where are you located? Is it transportable? Those parts that are shot or missing will need to be custom fabricated and will be very expensive. Don

Case model B rock crusher, started around 1912,the jaw is 10 x 20, weighs 14,000 lbs, on wood skids ,rated at 25 ton a hr.
A portable was also made, with a elevator. Sold new for around $2,500 in 1921.
I would think a "working"portable with elevator would be of medium/high value. But how much, I don't know [6500.00 to 10000?}. A stationary may have a value by the lb {1400.00 ?]. Broken or worn, not running is by the lb. as well. Rock rock was in high demand back then, still is . Could be a money pit the wife won't let you forget.
Quality still sells, one pays either way.
Put it on a Ebay auction!
As the say , the more you bid, the more its worth.

I would have to agree with Don Rudolph for the most part, that the crusher is only worth scrap price. Most of the old quarrying equipment is virtually worn out when taken out of service. The nature of job it does, and the time and weather really does a job on them. I have been working as a heavy equipment operator in a rock quarry on my days off from my regular job for years and have seen a lot of old stuff. (We have an ancient Allis Chalmers shaker on our creek gravel plant)HOWEVER....There is no telling what a case collector might pay. I would agree with putting it on ebay, and seeing what the market will bear. Is it a portable crusher on a carriage?

Thanks very much for your help. It"s on a carriage and worked about 40 years ago when it was parked. I think ebay may be the way to go. As you can see, the elevator needs new wood. Thanks again.

Thanks very much for the information and advice. I think we may just put it on ebay and see what happens. Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply. It worked about 40 years ago, and hasn't been touched since then so it's settled a bit. This is located in La Crosse, WI.
Thanks again for your help.
