3394 paint code

Hello, I am currently restoring a 1985 Case IH
3394. I would like to use automotive paint versus
the enamel paint the dealership sells. I am having
a hard time figuring out what color is suppose to
be on this tractor. if some one knows the PPG
paint code or the correct enamel paint. i can get
it color matched. any help will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks

I just finished painting an 87 2394. It just happened to turn out Power White rather than that other red that fades so bad. I used automotive paint and clear coated. Any good paint supplier can mix power white paint. I just think the white looks far superior to that red and it stands up better to the sun, and does not draw the sun like the darker colors.

Thanks for responding, we want to keep it red. not sure if tractor color suppose to be "Gloss Red" or what the name is.

I like Chevy "Victory Red" on the equipment. It's very close with a little brighter red than CIH and doesn't fade like the CIH paint.

Back when The 94 series were painted IH red to apease the IH lovers, All the red painted 94 series tractors turned to crappy faded red within a couple of years.Do yourself a favor and paint it Power White/ Black belly/ and Power Red wheel rims. Makes for one of the most Distinctive tractors ever built.
