Tom, Happy Birthday a day late!
The ad you posted brings to mind a question for you. My Dad bought his new 1030 in late 70 long after the 70 series were out. It was originally shipped to a dealer in Wahpeton ND before being transferred in to Aberdeen SD.
How long did it take your dealership to clean out old 30 series inventory after the 70s were on the ground? Or did you only order tractors that were pre-sold? Maybe territory managers spread them around the country in hopes a dealer would move them? Any big discounts or incentives from Case to take them in? Maybe there were not that many 30 series in company inventory at Racine to begin with?
I'd also like to hear from Loren and any other dealers who had experience with the transition.

Brad, we stocked a selection of tractors in the hp range we sold most of,,, but yes we did special order as well, the 1470's were especially hard to get, you had to have a signed order on them,,,, anyway, we sold the last "30" series in late summer 1970, the 930 I got back a few years ago, it was shipped to a CASE Power & Equipment store or a Company store, have to pull the build card to be sure, where it was stored for a number of months before it was shipped to us, we got it in early summer 1970, CASE discounted the "30" series and offered a extended floor plan for dealers as well
